From a street called “Maginhawa” in Quezon City, Philippines, the ripple effect of generosity and compassion has created an impact leading to several community pantries in countless streets in the country guided by a simple mantra: “Magbigay ayon sa kakayanan at kumuha batay sa kailangan” (Give what you can, take what you need).

But this Philippine version of Community Pantry can be traced back to the story of the “miracle of the five loaves and two fish” in the Holy Scripture. During the earthly ministry of our Dearest Jesus, there was this instance where a large crowd followed Jesus in a remote place for healing and deliverance. The disciples wanted to send the crowd away so they could go to the villages and buy themselves some food but with so much generosity and compassion, Dearest Jesus performed a great miracle that further proved He is the Messiah full of love and compassion. With only five loaves and two fish, Jesus was able to feed 5,000 men, besides women and children. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up 12 basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. (Taken from Matthew 14:13-21).

As several communities are inspired by this act of sharing love, may we not forget that the source of this great love is the ONE who loved us more and gave HIS life for us- our Lord and Savior JESUS Christ. Let us continue to proclaim His glory and continue to share what we can to those who are in need.

We continuously thank all our donors and sponsors here and abroad for all your generosity. God’s blessings be upon you all n return through the leading prayers of our Beloved Honorable Pastor Wilde E. Almeda.
To God be all the glory!

Proverbs 19:17
Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.
