Here is a story of RADICAL FAITH: believing on what is impossible, choosing to sacrifice for the lost and weary, and overcoming tests between life and death for the sake of the Gospel.

‌For nearly five decades, terrorism has become a major problem in the Philippines often carried out by several Islamic movements and militant groups with different ideologies and motives. In 2000, radical Islamist groups and Islamist separatist forces called the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) have carried out over 40 major bombings against civilian targets in the southern region of the country around Mindanao and the Sulu archipelago. Domestic terrorism and kidnapping became rampant not only in the Philippines but in other countries to show their resistance to the government with an aim to establish a separate Islamic nation ruled by strict Sharia law and to bring the entire world into submission to Islam.

‌In 2000, the war against terrorism heightened when the Sipadan hostage crisis emerged with 21 initial captives by the Abu Sayyaf Group. It is during this crisis that the honorable Evangelist Pastor Wilde E. Almeda of the Jesus Miracle Crusade International Ministry (JMCIM) together with the twelve Prayers Warriors went into the dangerous lair of the mountainous region of Jolo Island on a mission of peace to minister to the Moro terrorists and to bring hope to the captives. A peace mission that has brought so many misconceptions amongst skeptics while some labelled it as a dangerous entry into a “ Lion’s Den”. While it was nearly impossible to preach the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to a group of bandits who are against and are stanch defenders of their own faith, our loving God proved His power when He delivered them all, including the 21 Sipadan hostages through prayer and fasting.

This documentary tries to capture the real stories behind the Sipadan hostage crisis based on validated and existing facts and narratives of those involved in the peace mission.

Radical faith is central to this mission. John 6:28-29 clearly emphasized that the work of GOD is to BELIEVE. Our works will amount to nothing if we don’t believe and put our faith in God who makes all things possible.

‌When the world mocked and ridiculed the intention of the church, the Honorable Evangelist Wilde E. Almeda and beloved Assistant Pastor Lina C. Almeda remained firm in their faith and continued to follow the voice of our loving God. When several groups criticized and questioned the Honorable Evangelist’s wisdom and judgement, radical faith was shown. When the government abandoned the church and decided to conduct a military assault and declare an “all-out-war” against the Abu Sayyaf group despite the presence of the Honorable Evangelist and the twelve prayer warriors in the “belly of the beasts”, the Church held on to the Words and promises of the most powerful GOD that He alone will protect and cover them.

‌When others fail in their beliefs, we are to believe. When others are wavering, we need to stand strong. Even in the darkest of circumstances of our life, we need to be bold in believing God’s truth when we pray. This is what this Peace Mission is all about. This is what radical faith can do and this is the real story INSIDE TALIPAO.
