A Year and 7 Months Bedridden, Started Walking After 3 Days of Watching JMCIM TV

A blessed testimony of Beloved Brother Noel Manhuyod on June 28, 2026 at the Marikina Sports Complex during the blessed commemoration for the Beloved Pastor Wilde E. Almeda’s birthday

I am a former member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, specifically the Hukbong Sandatahang Dagat — the Philippine Navy. At that time, my beloved wife had fallen gravely ill. She had been unable to walk for almost one year and seven months.

As a soldier whose assignment kept me in Mindanao for almost nineteen years — in various parts of Mindanao, in the area of Holosulo, Tawi-Tawi, all the way to the border of Malaysia — my beloved wife endured much during those years. Because of everything she had been through, she became seriously ill. Her condition only worsened over time. Complications developed — she suffered from kidney trouble, her body became severely swollen, and her eyesight began to fail.

My fellow soldiers and neighbors would say to me,

“Chief, your wife’s illness has become like a Christmas tree — there are so many.”

There were so many ailments that I could no longer keep count of them all.

As a soldier, we brought her to Southcombe General Hospital, where she was confined for some time. But there was no improvement. After several months, we brought her home. We then sought out healers — different folk healers from across the surrounding areas.

Seeking Every Possible Cure

One day, a certain Haji approached me and said, “Chief, I know powerful remedies. If your wife is healed, I want you to give me your rifle.” I told him, “All right — go ahead and choose what kind of rifle you want.” Because I truly wanted my beloved wife to be healed. As a soldier deployed far from home, our children were still young — all of them still in elementary school.

So we went from one folk healer to another. Every kind of ritual was performed — everything was tried. Still, my beloved wife did not get well.

Eventually, we brought her to the AAP Medical Center in Diliman, Quezon City. We were there for several months, as she was confined. She said to me,

“Pa, bring me home. Even if there is nothing more that can be done for me, at least let me see our children.”

So I brought her home again. Then, after several more months, some of my relatives and uncles on our family’s side suggested,

“Bring her to the area of Pagadian City. That is where we are from. There are many different pastors there — relatives, uncles, cousins — who can pray over your wife.”

We went. Different pastors prayed over her. But she still did not get well.

I brought her home again. We tried yet another folk healer — and then another. All of the best folk healers in the surrounding areas were sought out. They were truly there.

Then, my beloved mother-in-law in the area of Mindoro said,

“Noel, bring her here to Mindoro. There is a very skilled healer here.”

My mother-in-law persuaded us, and we went to Mindoro. We stayed for about a month. But my beloved wife said,

“It feels like I am getting worse. I want to die. Bring me home. I want to be near our children. I want to see them.”

I agreed, and I brought her home again.

A Fellow Soldier’s Unlikely Suggestion

When we returned home, I was at a complete loss — there was nowhere left to turn. Then a former fellow soldier approached me and said, “Chief, how is your wife?” I told him the condition she was in. He said,

“She most likely will not survive if she passes away now. Because everything — every healer, every doctor — everything has already been tried.”

I said, “We were even confined at the AAP Medical Center for several months. I have done everything I can. I have tried it all. It seems as though she will not recover.”

He said to me, “Chief, try watching television.”

I looked at him and said, “Are you mocking me?” For truly, pastors had prayed over my beloved wife, and she had not been healed, and now he was telling me to watch television. He said,

“You have tried everything else. Try this — there is a church of GOD on television, the JESUS Miracle Crusade International Ministry.” Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

He said, “There is no charge. You are just at home. Try it. You have already tried everything else, so try this too — there is a church of GOD on television through the JESUS Miracle Crusade International Ministry.”

Beloved brethren, my neighbors began to mock me. They said, “So you are going to watch that pastor on television — the one who is supposedly healing people.” My fellow soldiers began to talk. Even so, I had all the windows and doors closed, because those were our neighbors — fellow soldiers.

First Time Watching JMCIM TV Program

Even before the program had finished — it was around 9 a.m., and we had already placed my beloved wife in front of the television by 7 o’clock — both my beloved wife and I were already weeping.

From the very beginning — from the opening — my beloved wife wept. She said, “Pa, I believe I will be healed here.” But as we continued to watch the testimonies — the ones shared — I truly could not believe what I was seeing. The faithful giving of the brethren from Metro Manila has allowed this work to reach as far as Zamboanga through the television program.

As we watched the television and listened to the testimonies, I could not believe my eyes. My beloved wife, do you know what? It was something remarkable. A spoon — she could not even lift it. That is how severe her condition was.

As the program neared its close, our Beloved Honorable Pastor gave the call: “All who are ill, touch the screen.” We approached the screen for the first time. Truly, something was happening to my beloved wife’s condition. I said to her, “My love, if you truly live, I will shout it out.” After that prayer, my beloved wife wanted to eat. She wanted to come back to life. Because as a soldier, I also wanted to see my children growing up, and I wanted my beloved wife to live.

A Miraculous Recovery

Beloved brethren, on the second day, as we were watching the television program again, I was amazed — she was already feeding herself. She was eating on her own. She said, “Pa, I am going to be healed through this church. As long as I live, I will devote my life to this work.”

Because I was a skeptic, as a soldier, I was resistant. I did not want to cry. But watching this work, beloved, truly — I could not hold back. We both felt it — we could feel the presence of GOD. Both of us were weeping together.

On the third day, I was amazed. I had been on duty, and when I came home, my beloved wife was walking. I said, “What happened?” She said, “Pa, I am already able to walk.” She was walking on her own. She had been bedridden for one year and seven months, and after only three days of watching the television program, [through the prayers of our Beloved Honorable Pastor, she can walk].

Who would not believe?

The Soldier’s Own Healing

Continuing my own story, I myself became a stroke victim in the area of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro. The veins at the back of my neck had ruptured. My children said, “Pa, let us have you checked.” I refused. I could no longer speak clearly. My face had already become distorted. I could not walk. They said, “Pa, at least let them check you, even if only by wheelchair, so that they can determine the cause of the stroke.”

When the doctor examined me, he told me clearly: “Count the years, count the months — it will be a long time before you walk again.” He was a specialist — a neurologist in the area of Calapan City — Dr. Labagis. He was known throughout all of Mindoro and even into Batangas as an excellent neurologist.

He said to me, “Count the years and months before you will walk again.” He then said he would give me a referral and that I could choose a hospital in the Mindoro area. I did not agree to be confined. I did not agree to have an operation. He said, “Come back after one week. We will check you again after you have taken the medicine.”

But within only five days, I will no longer be in the wheelchair. We were at home, praising GOD. I could not stand it. I could not kneel. But on the fifth day, I sensed something — I was like in a deep awareness, beloved. Suddenly, I found myself kneeling — while I was in worship and praise.

So, five days later — instead of returning after one week as the doctor had instructed — I went back to his clinic. He said, “You — aren’t you the soldier who could not walk? You’re walking?” I answered, “Yes.” [Through the prayers of our Beloved Honorable Pastor, GOD made me walk again.]

He was doubtful, so he ordered another CT scan. He took the scan, and when the new results came in, he was astonished. The findings confirmed what had already been seen in the first X-ray — and it was now clear. The condition was gone.

Because after three days, through the intercession and prayers of our Beloved Honorable Pastor — through his prayers from his cell phone — the following morning, our Loving GOD had caused me to walk.

Such is the goodness of our Dearest GOD in this Holy Ministry..

Praise GOD! May all glory, praise, honor, and worship be given to our Dearest GOD above all else.

Praise the Lord!
