Statement of Faith on Salvation

We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God and the supreme source of truth concerning salvation (2 Timothy 3:16–17).

We believe that there is one true God, our Dearest Lord Jesus Christ, in whom alone salvation is found (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). Salvation is by the grace of God and is received through obedient faith in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Holy Scriptures teach that salvation begins with faith in our Dearest Lord Jesus Christ, for “without faith it is impossible to please Him” (Hebrews 11:6, KJV). Genuine faith produces repentance, a sincere turning away from sin and a wholehearted turning unto God (Luke 13:3; Acts 3:19).

In obedience to the Gospel, believers are commanded to be baptized in water in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, according to the apostolic teaching (Acts 2:38; Acts 8:16; Acts 10:48; Acts 19:5). Believers are likewise to seek and receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the accompanying biblical evidence as recorded in the Book of Acts, empowering them to live a victorious Christian life and to be effective witnesses for Christ (Acts 2:1–4; Acts 10:44–46; Acts 19:6).

We therefore affirm that faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, repentance, water baptism in the Name of Jesus Christ, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit constitute the biblical and apostolic response to the Gospel. These are essential elements of obedient faith as taught by the apostles and faithfully proclaimed by the New Testament Church (Mark 16:16; John 3:5; Acts 2:38–39; Romans 6:3–4).

Furthermore, we believe that those who have received this salvation are called to live a holy and sanctified life, separated from sin and dedicated to God, through the continual guidance and power of the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 1:15–16; Hebrews 12:14; Romans 12:1–2). Holiness is the natural fruit of a transformed life and the evidence of a genuine relationship with our Dearest Lord Jesus Christ.
